Adoption Supports for PEI Families

These groups provide a wealth of information and support to families adopting. Families will find information on the adoption processes, the timelines, the challenges of adopting from a specific country or in general, recipes and cultural information, get togethers, play groups, support groups and much, much more. Families are strongly encouraged to join one or more of the following "connection" groups during and after their adoption process.
PEI China Adopt - PEI families adopting from China – a large group of families who have adopted from China or are in the process. This group usually meets every 2nd month for get togethers with children and parents. There are several “special” gatherings throughout the year such as Chinese New Year, Moon Festival, summer camping and the annual Christmas Party.

World Class Moms - moms on PEI adopting from several different countries - moms get together once a month to socialize and support each other through the adoption process.

PEI Adoption Coalition – An adoption advocacy group supporting PEI families by providing assistance with adoption issues, information, support groups (pre and post adoption), adoption related events, workshops and creating awareness in the area of adoption.

PEI Adoption Support Group - A group consisting of families adopting through domestic, international and private programs. Meetings are the 2nd Monday of each month. Different adoption issues will be discussed and families will be able to form connections and have support as they raise their adopted children.

Many agencies have their own yahoo group as well. Once you know where your child is from you may also find yahoo groups for that specific orphanage with tons of pictures and information on the province and/or city your child is from and the orphanage itself.
